Two More Cultural Assets from Turkey Inscribed on UNESCO

Held recently, the 38th Session of the World Heritage Committee has determined the properties to be added to UNESCO’S temporary and permanent world heritage lists. Izmir’s Bergama (Pergamon) district and Bursa’s Cumalıkızık village together with its Hanlar area and Sultan complexes, previously inscribed on UNESCOS temporary heritage list, have now been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. With the inclusion of the ancient city of Pergamon and the Ottoman monuments of Cumalıkızık, the number of Turkeys properties inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List has risen from 11 to 13.
